Aranyani Celebrates Earth Day 2021 Focusing on Charitable and Sustainable Initiatives

April 24 00:31 2021

New York, NY, USA – April 23, 2021 – Aranyani, the Indian luxury bag company that takes its inspiration from nature, is celebrating Earth Day 2021 with a number of charitable and sustainable initiatives. As the first sustainable luxury brand, Aranyani’s philosophy is based on the three principles of SAI – service, awareness, and inclusivity. Aranyani’s mission of supporting and sustaining the community, and the Earth it touches, has continued to expand since the company’s launch three years also.

About the decision to base the brand on these values, founder and creative director Haresh Mirpuri says, “Aranyani was founded on the belief that giving back to our community and to Mother Earth is true luxury. We have a responsibility to look out for and support our most vulnerable, and also to preserve our natural resources which hold so much power and beauty.”

From the beginning the company has focused on nurturing and supporting the Aranyani community which includes the craftspeople and their families. During the Covid-19 pandemic, the craftsmen have been provided rent-free accommodations and pay stability. To extend this support to the larger community, Aranyani also contributed INR 1 Million to the Prime Minister’s national relief fund for Covid relief.

Ensuring their team is supported and sustained, Aranyani grows organic foods in its orchard and gardens, which is available for their craftspeople to tend to as well as take home for their families. This familial support also extends to their children who receive educational grants from The Aranyani Educational and Vocational Trust, which was established in early 2020. The trust began by sponsoring the education of three children and plans on funding the educations of 15 more students by the end of this year. 1% of all proceeds from Aranyani sales is contributed to the trust.

As a luxury brand inspired by nature, Aranyani considers giving back to the community and the planet as a duty, and regularly supports needy families and vulnerable sections of society, providing rations and making donations to orphanages and homes for the elderly. Most recently, they donated INR 100,000 to the ‘Ashiana’ Old Age Home. To give directly back to the Earth, Aranyani plants a tree for each bag purchased, and sends the tree certificate to the buyer in their name.

As India faces another wave of coronavirus infections, the government is taking steps to establish a curfew and lockdown. Aranyani has purchased stocks of rice and provided one month worth of stock for the craftsman and staff, a local orphanage housing 30 children, a school that provides free education for 7 underprivileged children, as well as the Satya Sai Hospital that will ensure over 120 patients will be fed for a month. In total, Aranyani has distributed 2.5 metric tons between the underprivileged, the hospital, and their team and their families.

Aranyani also supports education in their communities and has contributed over INR 70 Million to the Sri Sathya Sai Mirpuri College of Music to promote education in the field of music, which is provided free of charge by the Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning.
